I’ve been meaning to do this post for quite some time now but never really had the time to do it. Fortunately today Its my day off and I’m feeling quite bloggy haaah …

So here are my top and bottom picks from my brush collection …

I want to start off with brushes I can not live without or brushes I gravitate to on a daily basis …

Now to be quite honest with you , I actually feel like I can live with just these brushes , I have a fair amount of other brushes too but these are the ones I’ve been using the most.

Face brushes

Eco tools flat top buffing brush – this is by far my fave foundation brush, I use it for both liquid and powder foundation. It buffs the foundation very well creating a flawless finish. What i usually do is I swipe foundation on my face and then I go in with this brush to spread the foundation evenly.

Real techniques buffing brush - like the flat top buffing brush this brush is also great for buffing in foundation. What I like to do with this brush is I like to use it clean, after I’ve spread and buffed my foundation in using the flat top brush I then use this brush to buff everything clean ? If that made sense hahaha … I then use it to apply setting powder.

Real techniques contour brush – my fave contour brush as of the moment … I also sometimes use it to apply blush and highlight to my face

Mac 168 angled brush – I can not live without this brush , its great for contouring, highlighting and adding blush. I have also used to for setting my foundation …

Eye brushes

Mac 239 – great for packing on ze eye shadow …

Mac 217 – I call this my multi tasking brush , in all honesty if I was to own only one eye brush then this would be the brush…. You can use it for almost anything … You can use it to apply your eyeshadow then blend it out, Ive also used it to apply concealer and to contour the side of my nose …. This is truly a must have brush. If your just starting on building your brush collection then you should definitely start with this brush.

Sigma E15 – I believe this is an eyeliner brush , but when I first got it, It didn’t work for me as an eyeliner brush … Then after a while I tried using it as a concealer brush and that too didn’t work for me since I like to apply my concealer with my fingers. Then one day when I was about to fill in my eyebrows I realized all my angled brushes were dirty, then I saw this brush lying around and poof there you have it I finally found a use for it and I seriously have never gone back to using an angled brush when it comes to filling in my brows .

I could add few more depending on what look I want but for everyday “natural” look these are the ones I use.

Now for ze neglected brushes … Believe me when I say I only ever grab these brushes when all my other brushes are dirty or still wet from cleaning.

Eco tools stippling brush – I didn’t expect this to be neglected but I really have no use for it ..

Mac 188 – too small for apply foundation, too light for cream blushes/highlighter even powdered

Mac 249 – tried using this for concealer and even eyeshadow base but theres really no point since I end up using my hands anyways

Mac 190 – universal foundation brushes and I dont get along very well, its streaky and a pain to clean.

Mac 211 – its not as multi tasking as ze angled liner brush

Real techniques foundation brush – bleh , useless and did I mention I hate universal foundation brushes ?

So there you have it … My top and bottom picks for makeup brushes.
